Hi!

I’m Janice Drakeford, the student representative for National Coalition for Black Development in Family and Consumer Sciences (NCBDFCS). I am a senior Family and Consumer Sciences Major at Morgan State University, and it is my pleasure and an honor to be a board member of the Coalition and serve as the student representative. The Coalition has been in existence for over 40 years and is a valuable resource for students pursuing a career in the field of Family and Consumer Science and related fields of study.  Founded in January 1980, the mission of the coalition is to enhance and strengthen the presence of family and consumer sciences programs in traditionally black institutions, to coalesce with other organizations to ensure the continued advancement of the profession, to provide support and career development for the next generation of black professionals, and to recognize and record the contributions of professional of African descent. If you are not a member of the Coalition you should click on the membership form and join today!
